Privacy Policy
Effective August 26, 2026
Evolve is a private reflection app. We keep the information needed to provide your account and personal journal, and we don't sell your data. Evolve may temporarily keep microphone audio in protected local app storage while an unfinished draft exists. Evolve's local copy is excluded from device backups, never stored by Evolve as a server-side recording, and deleted with the draft.
Information Evolve handles
- Account information: your account identifier and basic profile details, such as your email address, from the sign-in provider.
- Your content: check-in transcripts, journal entries, reflections, skills, goals, moods, and other information you choose to give Evolve.
- Voice capture and transcription: During a voice check-in, recording can continue while the screen is locked or Evolve is in the background. While an unfinished draft exists, Evolve temporarily stores microphone audio in protected local app storage so transcription can reconnect after a network interruption and the draft can recover after a crash. The audio is sent directly to the transcription provider and never reaches Evolve's servers as an audio recording. Evolve's protected local copy is excluded from device backups and deleted when its draft is completed, reset, or deleted, or when you delete all data or your account.
- Purchase information: product, entitlement, renewal, and subscription status from Apple and RevenueCat. Evolve does not receive your payment-card details.
- Service information: request and diagnostic data needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service. This can include timestamps, device or app version, and network information.
- Marketing-site activity: page, browser, device, advertising-click, and conversion information used to understand whether an ad led to a waitlist signup or a sign-in attempt. These conversion events do not include the email you type or any journal content.
- Waitlist and beta information: the email address you submit, bounded acquisition details, and delivery history used to confirm your request and send beta access or product updates.
How we use it
We use this information to authenticate you, transcribe your check-ins, build your private journal and skill map, create reflections, keep your subscription status in sync, respond to support and safety issues, and maintain the reliability and security of Evolve. We also use limited marketing-site activity to measure whether our ads and public pages are useful.
Evolve is paid for by its users. We do not sell personal information, serve behavioral advertising, or use your journal content to build an advertising profile.
Service providers
Evolve relies on carefully scoped providers for sign-in, hosting and database storage, transcription, AI processing, and subscription management. These currently include Clerk, cloud infrastructure and database providers, ElevenLabs, model providers reached through our AI gateway, Apple, RevenueCat, and Google for marketing-site tag and advertising measurement.
Evolve doesn't use your journal content to train models. Text sent for AI processing is separated from your name, email, and account identifier. Transcription and AI providers process only what they need for their task. Their retention rules vary, so Evolve doesn't promise universal zero retention by every provider. Providers must protect information consistently with this policy and their applicable contractual and legal obligations.
Retention and deletion
We retain account information and the content you choose to keep for as long as your account remains active. Operational records may be retained for a limited period where needed for security, accounting, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.
An unfinished voice draft may temporarily include raw audio in protected local app storage. That audio is excluded from device backups, and Evolve's local copy is deleted with the draft. Evolve doesn't retain it as a server-side recording.
You can delete an individual day from its detail screen. Deleting a check-in removes its transcript and records tied only to that check-in. Longer-lived things you chose to keep across entries, such as an adopted goal or saved memory, may remain until they are separately removed or you delete all Evolve data. Delete All Data in Settings removes your account and account-owned Evolve app data, including unfinished drafts stored locally. A minimal fraud-prevention deletion marker, a separately submitted waitlist record, limited backups or legal records, and subscription records managed by Apple may remain as described in the Privacy Policy.
Your choices
- You decide when to grant or withdraw microphone access.
- You can review and delete the content stored in Evolve.
- You can delete all service data and your account in Settings.
- You can limit marketing cookies and advertising measurement through your browser and Google ad settings.
- You can manage or cancel Evolve Premium through Apple subscription settings or Evolve's Customer Center.
Children and changes
Evolve is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy as the service changes or the law requires. Material updates will be dated here and, when appropriate, surfaced in the app.
Questions or requests
The fastest way to exercise deletion rights is inside Evolve: Settings includes account and data deletion controls. For other privacy questions or requests, use the current support contact on Evolve's App Store product page. Please do not include journal content in an initial support request.
Apple's own handling of App Store information is described in the App Store privacy information.
